Fast Fashion Retailers

There has been a photo circulating around lately, showing snaps of how a customer was unhappy with the writings on a sweater from Forever 21, which would have been better if not for the writings. I'm not putting it up here because the language is not exactly polite, but you can always google image "every time i find something in forever 21".

This is a growing problem with the big names in fast fashion like Forever 21 or Cotton On. In order to play up to the stereotypical "basic white girl" image, their shirts often have unnecessary phrases splashed across the front, including sayings like "More issues than Vogue" or "Pizza is my bae". When these tees were first introduced, they were funny, and people bought them because there weren't anything like that. However, as the "fast" in "fast fashion" suggests, trends come and go. What used to be funny and trendy aren't so anymore.

The minimalist, basic trend will hardly go out of style. Plain, coloured tees are what people are looking for, not the ones on their racks right now. If they really want to keep the customers, then please, grow out of playing the "basic white girl" image and launch more mature-themed clothing. H&M never got hit bad although it is in the same price range as the aforementioned retailers as it stocks more neutral and plain clothing, which will always be in demand. So shoutout to F21 and the like, please take a leaf out of H&M's book.
